A long cool late spring full of water and growth makes me recall ‘Spring Fever’. The first tall vase of flowers in the spring sets a room with rich colors and light that breaks the frost of a quiet winter heart.
This original watercolor came from my memories of winter anticipation and longing for warmth and budding nature. Growing up in Northern Idaho and long winters, I had to wait well into spring, sometimes lasting into the end of June, for blooms. This painting is my own version of the warmth and growth that the sun brings when it finally shows itself.
